Eczema is merely a symptom of an underlying health problem. Areas of the skin become inflamed, red, itchy and scaly due to food and seasonal allergies, contact with topical irritants or yeast. One of the ways to treat eczema is to reduce the level of inflammation in the body. Patients who prefer alternative medicine may be able to treat their eczema with oral herbs and herbal cream . Applying herbs cream directly to the affected area is effective in many people who have high levels of inflammation caused by eczema. Oral herbs can detoxify systems and build up energe, your eczema will have a chance finally be cleared up if you can find a experienced Chinese medicine practioner .

psoriasis

Some people refer to psoriasis as an irritant while the people who have suffered the disease call it an unstoppable disease. Although psoriasis may affect an individual in a number of ways, most people are largely physically affected. This is due to wounds and cuts they get from scratching the skin, which is also a common condition in psoriasis. Additionally, because the condition is also quite unsightly, sufferers of psoriasis may feel embarrassed or even depressed. Psoriasis, even in moderate circumstances, can lead to intense itching, and a patient may not be able to control him/herself when the flare ups occur. Now, the patients may feel alienated or even more embarrassed if someone sitting near them moves away and this is a common scenario. Nevertheless, it is only a myth that psoriasis is contagious, and science has proven the fact.
Psoriasis may cause Arthritis to patients who have it for a longer period of time. Arthritis develops in the small joints of the hands and the feet. This may prevent a patient from walking or doing normal chores.
While west medical treatment for Psoriasis is the most commonly used method, It is advised that it should be taken for a shorter period of time only because it has very bad side effects. Retinoid is a type that is used orally but it is dangerous when used by women because they cannot get pregnant while taking them. Methotrexate is another type that helps in reducing the swelling of the wounds and reduces the production of skin cells. One side effect that is the cause of this oral and injected treatment is that is can damage the liver cells. West drugs come with side effects, known or unknown. In the case of Biologics for example, Raptiva was recalled after in use for years as it has been found to cause severe nervous system infection.
Due to this, many have explored natural treatments and some treatments have been found to help psoriasis. Some of these natural therapies include oral herbs, herbal cream, acupuncture and moxibustion, etc. Herbal therapy has been found to help in reducing itchiness rebalancing Yin & Yang and detoxify your body; acupuncture can help relax and reduce stress level; moxibustion can build up body energe, increase recover speed. Patients should also avoid the cold and keep their skin moist and warm as the cold can dry up the skin and make the situation worse. A diet change in some cases can help prevent future flare ups too, so stop eating those junk foods and make a change in your diet for the better.
But once you decided try traditional Chinese therapies, please be patience and give it time because traditional Chinese medicine try help you from the root of the problem and important things is it doesn't have side effect at all, many patients have chance curing the problem if they tried our therapies more earlier, most of patients getting much better since try our therapies. that‘s why it will slowly but steady showing the good effect .

Itching

Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine are very effective for many skin inching problems. Itches can be localized (limited to one area of the body) or generalized (in which itching occurs all over the body or in several different areas). Generalized itch, for obvious reasons, is more difficult to treat by western medication, but very effective with acupuncture and herbal treatment. Itches can also occur with or without skin lesions (e.g., bumps or blisters). Skin itching might be caused by dermatitis, eczema, acne, scabies, psoriasis, hay weaves, urticaria. Itching accompanies many conditions. Probably the most common cause of itch is psychological, that is, due to stress, anxiety, etc. Stress also can aggravate itch from other causes. Dry skin is another frequent cause of itch. Other causes include metabolic and endocrine disorders (e.g., liver or kidney disease, hyperthyroidism), cancers (e.g., lymphoma), reactions to drugs, infestations of the skin (e.g., body lice), and diseases of the blood (e.g., polycythemia vera). Most people, who itch, however, do not have a serious underlying condition. Itching usually prompts scratching, which can sometimes lead to a vicious itch-scratch cycle. Scratching can initially feel so satisfying - but prolonged scratching just leaves you with irritated skin that can still itch! Since scratching provides only temporary relief and doesn't promote healing of the underlying problem, it is best to avoid scratching if at all possible. If scratching breaks open the skin, bacterial infection can set in. And if scratching continues for many months or years, the area that is scratched may develop thickened skin (lichenification) or pigmentation that darkens the area.
Skin Itching is a common problem in our clinic,we normally use Chinese herbs with herbal cream or use herbs with acupuncture together, and there have a highly successful rate in treat this problem in our clinic.

Studies have shown that acupuncture can be used to reduce blood pressure and thereby reduce heart disease. It has also been shown to reduce the incidence of angina, blood vessel spasms in the heart that cause pain. And people who were treated by acupuncture for angina were able to recovery more quickly form an attack than those on pharmaceutical treatment.

urinary infection

Chinese medicine, which has been evolving for over 4000 years, does not have a "germ theory" of disease. However, diagnosis and treatment are based on careful observation and time-tested approaches to every type of disease and injury. To diagnose health problems, symptoms are grouped into patterns, and the patterns are then typically treated with acupuncture and herbal formulas, as well as dietary modifications and other lifestyle recommendations. Two common patterns of urinary tract infections are the retention and accumulation of Damp Heat in the body, and Spleen and Kidney Deficiency. Damp Heat accumulation can be due to the consumption of hot spicy foods, meals high in fats and sweets, alcohol consumption, certain medications, and improper personal hygiene. Spleen and Kidney Deficiency is based in chronic illness, aging, pregnancy, menopause, and emotional stress. Both these patterns are discussed in detail in the following section. Many of the traditional Chinese herbal formulas have very strong anti-bacterial or anti-viral properties, but are safe enough to take over a longer period of time. In modern China, both western antibiotics and traditional herbal formulas are used to treat urinary tract infections, but it is generally thought that the herbal formulas are better for chronic infections and without side effect.

sprain

In Chinese medicine, sprain is considered a blockage of energy and blood. Essentially, nothing is moving through the injured area, and you can see the stagnation in the swelling and purple bruising around the joint. The first order of business in Chinese medicine is to get the energy and blood moving, relieve the pain, and soothe the injured tissues, so they can heal. If a sprain doesn’t heal properly, over time wind, cold, and dampness can move into the joint. You will know if this has happened if the injured joint feels chronically sore, or if that joint feels achy whenever it rains, gets cold and damp outside, or when the weather changes in general.
We may use a number of methods to heal a sprain, such as: acupuncture, herbs, moxibution and cupping, etc. no matter which joint or muscle was injuried, we will likely start with acupuncture, don’t worry—acupuncture almost pain free.

Gonitis, as in other forms of arthritis, arises as a result of the penetration of infection into the joint through the blood, from affected neighboring tissues, or directly (for example, from a wound that communicates with the joint). Gonitis may be acute or chronic. In acute gonitis an exudate (serous, purulent, or fibrous) accumulates in the cavity of the joint; pain and reddening of the skin over the joint appear, and body temperature is elevated. Forced semiflexion of the knee joint is characteristic of the condition; if this is prolonged, the contracture may become permanent, and if the joint cartilage is involved, the process may end in ankylosis. Chronic forms of gonitis develop either from the acute or may take a prolonged course from the start (for example, in tubercular and syphilitic gonitis). The manifestations of chronic gonitis are the same as those of the acute form, but they are less strongly pronounced. recurrent miscarriages

Chinese medicine and acupuncture offer effective solutions for recurrent miscarriages due to immune factors, hormonal imbalances, and stress. Our program addresses these issues using acupuncture, Chinese herbs, reproductive organ massage, and dietary guidance.
Acupuncture increases the blood flow to the ovaries to nourish the developing follicles and create better egg quality and stronger embryos. Acupuncture also warms the uterus to nourish the developing fetus, improve the blood flow to the placenta, and prevent uterine contractions. It normalizes the function of the Hypothalamus-Pituitary-Ovarian axis to regulate and improve the body’s natural hormonal production, which in turn improves ovarian function, egg quality, and proper progesterone levels. And, acupuncture relaxes the body and reduces stress levels to prevent early uterine contractions.
Chinese herbs build strong, nutrient-rich blood for the ovaries which will better nourish the developing follicles and create better egg quality and stronger embryos. The herbs also normalize the function of the Hypothalamus-Pituitary-Ovarian axis to regulate and improve the body’s natural hormonal production, which in turn improves ovarian function and egg quality. And, Chinese herbs nourish the spleen, kidney, and liver systems which are responsible for our reproductive health.

morning sickness

The following is an excerpt from the" Mail Online ,Friday, Mar 22 2013 ": Cure morning sickness with acupuncture

"Acupuncture is already one of the most popular alternative therapies and now doctors say acupuncture can help cure morning sickness. Experts studied 600 women suffering from the symptoms that can make the early months of pregnancy a misery for many mothers. The women were all less than 14 weeks pregnant. Those given 20 minutes of acupuncture a week made remarkable improvements. Dr Caroline Smith, who led the research, said: 'Around 50 to 80 per cent of all pregnant women experience nausea or vomiting in early pregnancy. 'As a result they can have poor quality of life - they feel lousy and may be low in spirits, anxious, and find it hard to do everyday things. 'Our results have shown that as little as one treatment can significantly change the way these women feel. ' We found that traditional acupuncture reduced nausea throughout the trial, with dry retching being reduced from the second week.' 'The traditional Chinese technique proved most effective. Women now have an additional option to manage their morning sickness,' said Dr Smith. 'They function - physically and emotionally - much better after both types of acupuncture. 'I hope this exciting evidence that complementary therapy does work will open up new opportunities for funding future research in women's health.' Dr Richard Halvorsen, a GP and spokesman for the British Medical Acupuncture Society, said: 'There is more good evidence that acupuncture is effective for nausea and vomiting than for any other condition. 'I have treated women with morning sickness and found it to be very effective.' This technique, which originated in China more than 2500 years ago, is used by more than five million people a year in the UK."

Ears, Eyes, Nose and Throat Problems:
Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (ETD), halitosis(bad breath), hay fever, otitis, pharyngitis, rhinitis, sinusitis, sore throat, snoring, tinnitus, vision problems, floaters etc.

Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (ETD)

The Eustachian tubes connect the middle ears to the nose. The tubes help the ears drain fluid (mucus) from the middle ear. They also keep air pressure in the ears at the right level. The Eustachian tube is normally closed, but it opens from time to time in the back of the nose, for example when you yawn or swallow. When you pinch your nose in an effort to "pop" the ears open, air is forced up the Eustachian tube to equalize pressure in the middle ear space. However if these tubes become obstructed or blocked, you might have Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (ETD). If your condition gets worse, it can become chronic and lead to hearing loss.
We can help Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (ETD) by use therapies such as: ear candling, herbs and moxibustion, etc.

rhinitis

Acupuncture may be a safe and effective treatment for allergic rhinitis with benefits over conventional medicine. In general, acupuncture is believed to stimulate the nervous system and cause the release of neurochemical messenger molecules. The resulting biochemical changes influence the body's homeostatic mechanisms, thus promoting physical and emotional well-being. Stimulation of certain acupuncture points has been shown to affect areas of the brain that are known to reduce sensitivity to pain and stress. Acupuncture may help to relieve pain and congestion in people with allergic rhinitis by:
• regulating levels of cytokines, mediators of the allergic reaction to extrinsic allergens; • stimulating nerves located in muscles and other tissues, which leads to release of endorphins and other neurohumoral factors, and changes the processing of pain in the brain and spinal cord; •reducing inflammation, by promoting release of vascular and immunomodulatory factors; •enhancing natural killer cell activities and modulating the number and ratio of immune cell types; •increasing local microcirculation, which aids dispersal of swelling.

sinusitis

The main symptoms of sinusitis are a purulent, yellow nasal discharge from the front and back of the nose (into the throat), a stuffed nose, a frontal headache and a feeling of heaviness of the head. The sinuses may be tender to touch.
Long term sinusitis is often caused by repeated infections by the common cold or influenza viruses. Part of the problem with this condition is anatomical. The openings into the nasal cavity are narrow and so if there is already inflammation, then further infection and inflammation makes the cavities prone to blockage. This results in stagnation of fluids in the nose and sinuses.
Within Chinese medicine, repeated invasions of common cold & influenza viruses occur because the Lung energy is weakened. In addition, these infections interfere with the movement of Lung energy which in turn causes the fluids in the nose and sinuses to collect.
Due to it stubborn nature, the herbal medicine is often best for the treatment of sinusitis.
